Okay, when and where is this happening?
25th October 2025, at the Palace of the Arts aka Wylam Brewery in Newcastle. In the UK.
I’ve never been to Newcastle, is it nice?
Yes, very nice. England’s northernmost metropolitan borough is renowned for its Georgian architecture, lively nightlife, and friendly people. You may have tried a bottle of Newcastle Brown in a pub, eaten a sausage roll from Greggs, or watched Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway - all hail from Newcastle!
Newcastle also boasts a wide range of accommodations to suit every budget, as well as great national and international transport links with Newcastle Central Train Station and Newcastle International Airport. It’s also super easy to get around Newcastle on public transit.
If you’re travelling internationally (or even just from down south) we’d love to give you some travel tips and recommendations!
Some nearby hotels:
Holiday Inn Jesmond, Jesmond Dene House, Sleeperz, Travelodge Newcastle Central
Things to do in the North-East:
Explore Newcastle city center and check out the quayside, get a 15 minute train to Durham and take in the historic city, think about the Roman empire (literally) at the World Heritage Site Hadrian’s Wall, or jump on the subway and head to the beach at Tynemouth, and more!
What is the plan?
Wedding guests should plan to arrive by 11:30am at Wylam Brewery.
The ceremony will be followed by dinner and drinks. Then, we party. Expect good tunes, fun times, and photobooth pics you’d rather forget until midnight. We’ll provide taxi numbers nearer the time for guests who want to pre-book their carriages.
Note to people travelling: trains in the UK aren’t always reliable, so if you’re coming from afar you might want to consider arriving the night before. We’ll organize an informal, un-hosted drinks and dinner locally the night before for anybody who wants to mingle, meet fellow guests, and see us before the big day.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes, the venue is fully accessible. There is no parking at the venue, but there is a Metro station a 15 minute walk away. Drop off via taxi or car can also be arranged, if needed. There will be space for storing bulky items like prams, wheelchairs or walkers, or anything else that will make your day easier.
Got specific access needs? Let us know and we can check with the venue on your behalf.
Are children invited?
Yes, absolutely!
What should I wear?
Dress to impress! Dig out those sequins and sparkles, that dress you’ve always wanted to wear but never had an occasion, your finest suit, or anything in between.
Alice will be wearing a white dress, Andrew will wear a suit FYI.
Does the building have any sort of cool history or legacy?
We’re so glad you asked! The Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is the last surviving building from the 1929 North East Coast Exhibition. The Exhibition was an ambitious project built for a World’s Fair and its purpose was to celebrate and encourage Craft, Art, and Industry at the start of the Great Depression. Read more about the history here.
More details to follow, stay tuned for the full invite!
